ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In his role, Alex took on the responsibilities for the Lotus Evija hyper car, continuing the development of its highly advanced digital interface. This involved not only refining the existing HMI design but also integrating new features with a focus on enhancing the overall driver experience. Through careful and precise adjustments, Alex demonstrated a commitment to aligning cutting-edge technology with functional clarity and design consistency across the HMI.
In addition to the design work, Alex played a pivotal role in testing and validation. He conducted a thorough review of all vehicle screens and functionalities, ensuring that each element adhered to the intended design vision. His meticulous hands-on testing helped identify and resolve discrepancies, guaranteeing a seamless and consistent user experience.
Furthermore, Alex was a key stakeholder in the sign-off process for physical HMI controls, such as the centre console and steering wheel buttons. His input ensured that the tactile elements of the interface were as thoughtfully designed as the digital ones, creating a cohesive user experience that bridged the gap between digital and physical interaction.

FINAL NOTES
Working on the Lotus Evija HMI project was a valuable experience for Alex. Inheriting an advanced design and then refining it taught him how to respect the original vision while confidently adding improvements. The importance of thorough testing and validation stood out, reinforcing how crucial attention to detail is for a seamless user experience.
By collaborating with suppliers and internal teams, Alex gained a greater appreciation for how digital and physical elements must align. This project showed Alex that at the heart of great UX design is making technology feel intuitive. Going forward, he’s more dedicated than ever to blending usability with innovation in all his future work.
